CHURCH HISTORY EXHIBITION

'ENJOYING ST MARYS CHURCH' HISTORY TALK WITH ROY TRICKER

Join Roy Tricker, for a fascinating evening ‘Enjoying St Marys Church’. Roy is passionate about sharing his love of historic churches. A prolific speaker and writer, he has given countless talks, written over 200 church guidebooks, and appeared on radio and TV.
THE SUFFOLK WITCH TRIALS ‘POP UP’ EXHIBITION
Venue: St Mary’s, Tattingstone
This touring exhibition (in association with Babergh District Council and Suffolk Archives) uncovers the lives of those accused during the witch trials, giving voice to the people whose stories are often forgotten.
GUIDED HERITAGE WALK
Take a walk through history with a guided tour of the village and surrounding landscape.
Explore hidden stories, discover historic landmarks, and see the places that inspired generations.
WORKSHOP: HAND BUILT POTTERY
Venue: St Mary’s, Tattingstone
Get hands-on with clay in this creative workshop. Learn traditional pottery techniques, shaping and decorating your own piece to take home, with guidance from a skilled ceramic artist.
CONSTABLE 250
Venue: St Mary’s, Tattingstone
Celebrate 250 years since the birth of the artist John Constable. As part of the wider programme organised by Colchester and Ipswich Museums. Join us for local activities marking the life and legacy of Suffolk’s most famous painter and his links to Tattingstone.
MOTH TRAPPING and WILDLIFE MORNING
Venue: St Mary’s, Tattingstone
Set moth traps around the churchyard and return the next morning. Learn how to identify different species and watch them safely released. We’ll also talk about the swifts that nest nearby and the grassland wildlife that makes the churchyard such a rich habitat.
